GC Internship is an internship designed to help students move towards their next while they grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man.
THE WIN: To see students planted, thriving, and leading in the local church beyond the program.
The Generation Changers Internship Program is not only a lot of fun, but it also includes hands-on ministry training, in-depth teaching from various ministry leaders, and growth through life-giving relationships.
Interns will have mandatory weekly meetings, usually, one night per week, where they will receive development and training from our lead pastor, Pastor Barry Smith, and other staff and leadership. The topics of development will be Bible and Faith, Leadership & Character Development, Foundations for Ministry, and Logistics of the Local Church.
While enrolled in this internship, you will be required to attend all of the weekend services at GC Church unless prior discussed with your direct report. We believe that soaking and serving are both important for your personal development. This means of those services that you attend, at least one service a month you will be required to “soak” and sit in the service. For the other service times, you will serve in your selected area of service.
Additionally, you will be required to be at our First Wednesday service of each month, as well as all GC Young Adults gatherings unless prior discussed with your direct report.
The hands-on ministry will be spread out throughout the church. You will have a primary focus as well as other serving opportunities in areas throughout the church, gaining a wide array of experiences from the parking lot to the pulpit.
The commitment length will vary depending on the student, their goals, and the availability within the program. The typical programs will last one calendar year, one school year, or one summer.
You will get out of the program what you put into it. If you commit to this program, you will grow in your relationship with God, and move toward your calling like never before!
